Our goal is for every baby to grow and thrive within a safe and loving family. Whether biological, adoptive, or long-term foster, the bond of family cannot be replicated. While we do our best to create a nurturing, family-like environment and care for each baby as our own while they are with us, our mission is to place them with their own loving families.
As we love and care for the babies at Haven of Hope, we also work closely with their families and the surrounding community. Building healthy families is a process that requires relationship, training, empowerment, and ongoing support. We strive to ensure that every child transitions into a home that is safe, healthy, and self-sustaining, all while partnering with and honoring local government guidelines.
HCO Kenya has four baby cottages on our property, typically caring for 20–30 babies at any given time. Our administrative, ministry, and care teams include trained, competent, trauma-informed staff who serve with compassion and excellence. In addition to caring for our babies, we invest intentionally in the lives of our staff — teaching, training, and equipping them to be healthy, empowered members of their own families and communities.
In Kenya, as in many parts of the world, the family structure is under strain. Pain, poverty, and ongoing hardship have weakened the family unit. We long to see families strengthened through biblical truth and the hope of Christ. By building relationships with men and women in our community, we aim to teach, encourage, and empower them to become agents of change within their homes, families, and wider communities.
Because financial hardship is so widespread, we also support family stability through business training and microfinance. By helping meet practical needs, we open doors to meaningful relationships and opportunities to share the hope of Christ.
As we work to strengthen families, we begin with our own. Haven of Hope Baby Center is not only a place of care for our babies — it is a place of ministry for our staff, where we invest in, train, and disciple those who serve alongside us.
To see families fully functioning with each individual member thriving in safe, loving, supportive homes and communities.
To provide a safe, loving home for babies as we seek to find their permanent place within a family unit, and to strengthen and come alongside families by training and equipping men and women through biblical teaching and discipleship.
