Children thrive in families. While we love welcoming little ones into our home, our deepest desire is to see every baby grow up in a safe, permanent family. From the moment a child arrives, we begin the work of understanding their story and seeking the best path toward family placement.
Reunification
Restoring Children to Their Biological Families
When a baby comes into our care, our team immediately begins intensive research to understand their background and locate any known relatives. If a biological family member is found, we work to identify what support is needed for reintegration to be safe and sustainable.
Our goal is to help families regain stability — emotionally, spiritually, and economically — so they can provide a healthy home for their child. Whenever possible, we pursue reunification as the first and best outcome.
Adoption
Providing Safe, Permanent Homes
When reintegration is not possible, we work to have babies legally freed for adoption so they can be welcomed into loving, permanent families. Every child deserves to belong, and helping make this possible is one of the greatest privileges of our ministry.
Because Kenya is currently closed to international adoption, all adoption decisions are handled domestically through registered, government-approved agencies. As an independent baby home, HCO does not facilitate adoptions directly, but we work closely with licensed agencies to support the process.
Foster Care
Families That Stand in the Gap
For babies who cannot be adopted, we partner with long-term foster families who are willing and able to welcome children into their homes as one of their own. Foster families play a crucial role in offering stability, belonging, and love to children who need temporary or ongoing care.
HCO works directly with the local Children’s Department to identify and support foster families within our community. As the need grows, we continue to pray for and seek families willing to open their hearts and homes.
