Strong families help build productive communities. We believe that life change happens through relationship. Investing in the lives of our staff, families and community as we show the love of Christ is a primary focus of HCO. It is our desire to strengthen these communities one child, one family, one village at a time.

As our babies go home with their own family, they deserve to be in the safest, most loving families that are capable and competent to care for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Supporting a family can have many different looks. We strive to balance this help with an appropriate level of responsibility on all sides, working to ensure that whatever support given does not create a continued need for dependence or expectancy. In this way, we can come alongside and empower the families and communities in ways that will work for them in the long term, where their ownership, responsibility
and desire to care for their own family becomes the driving force for continued success.

Within our own HCO family and staff, we value our relationship with the men and women on our team and invest in their lives, just as they invest in the lives of our babies. We desire to teach the men the value of leading their families with strength, integrity and honor, and to equip the women to be strong pillars of faith within their homes and communities. As we pour into their lives, they are then empowered to take their faith forward and show and share that hope with others. By the grace of God, they can be agents of change within their own sphere of influence.
