Loss is what brings our babies to us. Though we love to welcome them and love on them, Haven of Hope is a stop in their journey of life that follows trauma. Our greatest desire is to be a part of their healing, to be a catalyst for God to repair their heart, retrain their brain and help them learn to feel love. We believe our aunties do an amazing job of loving our babies!
Jedd Medefind, President of Christian Alliance for Orphans, said, “Losses are never glazed over in Scripture. Loss is real, but it is never final.” The loss our babies have experienced is real and deserves to be recognized. When it is recognized, it can be addressed. That is how God can begin to heal their little hearts.
We have a responsibility to care for the hearts of the little lives God has entrusted to us. Training our aunties to understand trauma and our role in caring for children from trauma is vitally important to our ministry. We not only want to love our babies, but it is our responsibility to help them heal from the separation from their biological family. It is also our privilege to bring them hope. The trauma and separation they have experienced does not limit their future. God has big plans for every little life and we are honored to be a part of their journey to a happy, healthy future!
