A few weeks ago I told you about Matthew and the work we were doing to help he and his mother be reunited. Well, a few weeks later and they are well on their way to being together!
Phillip, our Grounds & Facilities Manager who is simply amazing at coordinating logistics for things like this, has been working hard to help get Mama Matthew’s new home built! She will soon be ready to move out of her step-mother’s “kitchen” (a small outdoor shanty) and into her own house on a separate piece of her father’s property. She has a stable job and her other two children are doing very well. With the hope of her own independence and self-sufficiency, she is excited about taking her little man home!
We will be going to visit Mama Matthew, taking Matthew for a visit and checking on the status of the construction within the next week. The house is nearing completion and we will soon be ready to take Matthew home for good!
