FOSTER, ADOPTION & REUNIFICATION – Every baby is someone’s child – we help them find their families
It is our desire to see all babies in families. Though we love welcoming sweet little ones into our home, we know that ultimately, children belong in families where they can thrive. When a baby comes into our home, we work to find out as much as possible about their situation through intensive research and investigation. If any known relative is found, our goal is to find out what is needed for that child to reintegrate into their biological family, and then to assist the family to be able to care for and sustain a healthy standard of living for the family, as well as the baby.
When family reintegration is not possible, then we work to have the baby freed for adoption so that he or she can be united with their own, loving family. We believe that every child deserves a family, and we have the awesome privilege of helping to make that happen! For those babies who are not able to be adopted, we place them with long-term foster families.
At present, Kenya is no longer open for international adoptions. However, adoption awareness and openness is growing in Kenya and domestic adoptions are growing. As an independent home for babies, we do not facilitate adoptions. We work directly with agencies who are vetted and registered by the Kenyan government.
We have a growing need for foster families in our community. HCO/HOH works directly with our local Children’s Department to place babies in need of families with long-term foster families. These are families who are willing and able to care for children in need in their own family setting, taking them as one of their own.
Please contact us if you are a Kenyan citizen interested in fostering or adoption and we can provide you with the appropriate contacts to pursue welcoming a child into your home.
